COMICS AND CARTOONS ... Our June Theme Dinner

6pm Cocktails and Appetizers and MAGIC

7pm Dinner

Our entertainment will be our special guest, Jason Ravida. Jason is a “close-up magician” and will circulate the tables during the cocktail hour and the beginning of the dinner. Our theme is Comics and Cartoons...Fun dress is, of course, optional. Think, Dick Tracy, Olive Oyl, Popeye, Miss Piggy, Wonder Woman, Spider Man, Archie, Blondie, Flintstones, Orphan Annie, Tom and Jerry, Prince Valiant, Dennis the Menace, Snow White, Betty Boop, Sargent Beetle Bailey, Dagwood, Lois Lane, The Joker, Penguin and on and on.

Please sign up for your covered dish with Kris either at the May meeting or

Bring your Significant Other. If bringing additional guests please bring extra food. If you have a hot plate or crock pot please bring it to keep your dish warm. Bring serving utensils (label). We appreciate anyone that can help decorate,

set tables, and clean up.

Call for Artists


for a Summer 2018 Juried Art Show at Sand Lake Center for the Arts


Artists of all media are invited to submit two works for a juried show at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts. Starts July1 and runs through August 31, 2018. Twenty pieces will be selected with first, second, third and people’s choice cash awards ($300, $200, $100 and $100) will be given. There is no submission fee.


Submissions should be sent to in jpeg form by April 30, 2018. Selections will be announced by May 25, 2018 and selected works must be delivered to the Sand Lake Center for the Arts by June 23, 2018.
